Daytime
Your panels power the home first. Excess generation charges your battery instead of being exported for a small feed-in credit.
Solar Battery Storage
A home battery stores the solar energy you don't use during the day, so evenings, early mornings and even blackouts can run on your own power.

Without storage, surplus daytime solar is exported to the grid for a modest feed-in credit. A battery keeps that energy at home — so you buy far less electricity when prices are highest.

After sunset your home draws from stored solar energy. Only once the battery is depleted does the grid step in.
Use more of the solar you generate
Reduce exposure to evening peak prices
Optional backup for outages (configuration-dependent)
Some battery systems can keep your lights, fridge and Wi-Fi running when the grid goes down — but backup capability is not automatic.
Important: whether your home has power in a blackout depends on the battery model, the inverter, and how the system is wired at installation. Some setups back up the whole home, others only selected circuits, and standard grid-connected batteries may provide no backup at all. Tell us if blackout protection is a priority and we'll make sure your quotes specify a backup-capable configuration.

Installing panels and storage together is usually the most cost-effective path: one design, one installation, and a system engineered as a whole. We arrange combined quotes that show both federal incentives applied upfront.
The Australian Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program reduces the upfront cost of eligible batteries, applied through your retailer or installer. The value varies with battery size and program settings. See how it works.
Assessment of your usage, existing solar and switchboard
Storage-sized quote with the federal incentive applied
Installation and commissioning by an accredited partner
Monitoring setup so you can track charge, usage and savings
It depends on the battery, the inverter and how the system is wired. Some configurations provide full-home backup, others back up selected circuits, and some grid-connected batteries provide no backup at all. If blackout protection matters to you, tell us during your assessment and we'll ensure partner quotes specify backup-capable configurations.
